SPORTS DAY CELEBRATION OF GD GOENKA INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL ROHTAK – UDAAN

The much awaited Annual Sports Day was held on Sunday 4th December 2016. The fantastic turnout from the parents and pleasant weather were the perfect boost for the students on their 2nd Annual Sports meet at GD GONEKA INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL ROHTAK.

The students entered into the spirit of the occasion in a grand way with the oath being administered by the Chief Guest of the day Mr. Yogeshwar Dutt very well-known wrestler in India won Silver medal in Olympic 2012.

The Guest of Honour was   Mr. Antanu Rakshit, Director at IIM-Rohtak,  accompanied by his wife Mrs. Rakshit. Among other distinguished guests was the Ex. DUSU president Mrs. Amrita Dhawan.

The school Principal Mrs. Asha Rana along with Mr. Karamvir Maina (Chairman) also took the salute of the impressive march past of the GD Goenka school students.

The Annual School Report was also read by the school principal highlighting the major events, activities and competitions held during the current academic session.

A peppy dance drill and an energizing exercise drill set the tone for the rest of the event.

Once the races began, the air was filled with cheering and tons of encouragement for the young athletes.

Students of Grade 1st to 5th competed class wise in events including sprints, obstacle race, commando race and three legged race. Fun time with lemon and spoon race with mothers added to the enjoyment.

Various other sports events like 100m race, 200m race, 400m race 800m race and 4*100m relay were witnessed, winners were awarded with certificates and medals.

The school principal in her address thanked convenors , entire Staff of Goenka, Chief Guest, parent community and all present.  Head Boy and Head Girl proposed the vote of thanks.

The lowering of the school flag which marks the end of the closing ceremony was done ceremoniously in presence of the chairman and the Principal. The program concluded by signing the national anthem.
