co-curricular activities

Our teachers spend a great amount of time in thinking, planning and organizing innovative activities which not only readies the child for future endeavors when he steps outside the school boundary but also shapes  him into an aware and competent human being. In order to free the scholar of stage fright, various academics oriented inter and intra school competitions like extempore, debate, declamation and speech are regularly organized.

We believe that school is the only place which can provide an environment suitable for overpowering the hesitation and nervousness of public speaking. Our teachers not only assist them with right pronunciations and postures but also encourage them to be thoughtful writers who are capable of voicing the social concerns and short comings. Their essays, poems and articles reflect the growing concern shared by the youth of today.

Time and again various plays are enacted by our students to understand and mediate the past with the present in coherence with the social-economical and historical context. The importance of this practice has been well exemplified by Bertolt Brecht, the German great playwright himself. He felt “ we need a type of theatre which not only release the feelings, insights and impulses possible within the particular historical field of human relations in which the action takes place, but employs and encourages those thoughts and feelings which help transform the field itself.”
