PLAN OF EXAMINATION

The Civil Services Examination is divided into two phases:

(i) Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination (Objective Type) This examination is meant to serve as a screening test only; the marks obtained in the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination by the candidates who are declared qualified for admission to the Civil Services (Main) Examination will not be counted for determining their final order of merit.

(ii) Candidates are selected for various services and posts through the Civil Services (Main) Examination, which consists of written and interview/personality tests.

UPSC STUDY MATERIAL PLANNING

All study material planning is based on the NCERT syllabus while keeping in mind the relevance of each topic in UPSC CSE. A monthly current affairs booklet will be given to each student.

● For classes 6th to 8th, all books will include 15–20 conceptual objective type questions at the end of each chapter.

● For classes 9th to 12th , all books will include conceptual objective type questions and Mains subjective questions at the end of each chapter. An essay toolkit will be given to each student.

In the preparatory year of the project, the school has formed a UPSC Team to cater students at three levels:

UPSC CSE specific Level I (Class 6th to 8th):

● Subject teachers will follow their own class pattern and curriculum with UPSC study material as a supplementary source of learning. (both for GS and CSAT)

● Focus on handling Objective type questions by students in the classroom.

● Special classes for writing essays will be introduced in the school planner.

● Group Discussions in classrooms for brainstorming concepts.

● Special Classes for important contemporary topics by the expertise of the respective topic.

● Daily Vocabulary building word discussion by an English teacher for better understanding of comprehensive topics.

● Weekly/fortnightly special class for doubt clearance expertise of the subject.

● The school organized events and programmes frequently for grooming and developing personality of its students whoch is essential in all walks of life.

● Revision classes before tests.

● Monthly tests on Prelims pattern based Objective Questions covering GS, CSAT & current affairs.

● Monthly Tests discussion in coming classes.

Level II (Class 9th and 10th)

● NCERT Books are the basic foundation of the academic curriculum.

● Case Studies discussions in classrooms for brainstorming concepts.

● Precise writing practice of learners by the concerned teachers.

● Focus on integrated preparation for prelims and mains.

● Monthly tests on the latest pattern of the UPSC Civil Services Examination.

Level III (Class 11th and 12th)

● Weekly 2 classes covering the relevant,contemporary topics for the examination.

● Answer writing practice for the main examination.
